Morris Rocker

Solid Quarter-sawed White Oak

This Morris style (variously called Mission-style or Stickley-style, the latter  because it is similar to furniture manufactured by the  Stickley  furniture company)  rocker was custom designed and built to be comfortable for a client of smaller stature.  Consequently it is somewhat smaller than the bulky size typical of Morris/Mission style furniture.    It features through tenons, corbels, and an adjustable back.  It is made of quarter-sawed white oak as was traditional for Morris/Mission  style furniture in the early 1900's.
